Terms of Service
Last updated October 30, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of Signcodify, including signcodify.com, the Signcodify editor and dashboard, and documentation sites published with Signcodify. By creating an account, inviting members or publishing documentation, you agree to these terms. If you use Signcodify for a company, you confirm that you may accept these terms on its behalf.
1. The service and who runs it
Signcodify is a documentation platform for software teams. It lets you write pages in a block editor, organize them in spaces, sync them with a Git repository, generate an API reference from an OpenAPI file, search and ask questions of your docs with AI, keep versions and a changelog, and publish a documentation site on a signcodify.com address or your own domain. The service is operated by Signcodify Inc., a corporation organized under the laws of the State of New York, with its principal office at 212 Lafayette Street, Floor 5, New York, NY 10012.
2. Your account
You must give accurate information and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account and for the members you invite and the roles you give them. Publishing documentation and connecting integrations require a verified account; we may decline or revoke verification, for example to prevent impersonation of another company.
2.1 Your content
You own the documentation, code samples, OpenAPI files and other material you put into Signcodify ("Customer Content"). You give Signcodify Inc. a limited license to host, copy, process, index and display Customer Content only as needed to run the service for you, including building search indexes and rendering your published site. We do not sell Customer Content and we do not use it to train AI models shared with other customers.
2.2 Git and OpenAPI integrations
If you connect a Git provider such as GitHub or GitLab, you authorize Signcodify to read the repositories and branches you select and to open branches, commits and pull requests that you or your members start from Signcodify. You can disconnect at any time from Settings. Signcodify is not affiliated with GitHub or GitLab; their names are trademarks of their owners. OpenAPI files you upload or sync are parsed to build your API reference; the "Try it" panel sends requests from the reader's browser directly to the API you document, not through Signcodify.
2.3 AI search
"Ask the docs" answers questions using the pages a reader is allowed to see and links to the pages it used. Answers can be incomplete or wrong; your published pages remain the authoritative source. Questions and answers are processed by our AI sub-processors under agreements that forbid them from training on your data, and are stored for analytics in your workspace.
3. Acceptable use
You may only publish material you have the right to publish. You may not use Signcodify to impersonate another company or its documentation, to collect credentials, to host malware or unlawful content, to infringe the rights of others, or to overload or probe the service. We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach this section, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it.
4. Fees
Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance and can be cancelled at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period. Readers of your published docs never pay. We will give at least thirty (30) days' notice before changing the price of your plan.
5. Termination and retention
Either party may end this agreement at any time. After termination you can export your spaces as Markdown and your OpenAPI files for thirty (30) days, after which Customer Content is deleted from active systems. Account, billing and security records are kept for up to ten (10) years where the law, tax rules or the resolution of a dispute require it.
6. Limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, Signcodify Inc.'s total liability arising out of these terms is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve (12) months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data that you could have restored from your own repository or export.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to section 7.2, any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and both parties consent to personal jurisdiction there.
7.1 Consumer protection
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under New York General Business Law § 349 or other consumer-protection law. New York residents may contact the Office of the New York State Attorney General, Bureau of Consumer Frauds and Protection.
7.2 Dispute resolution
The parties will first try to resolve any dispute through good-faith negotiation for sixty (60) days after written notice. If that fails, either party may submit the dispute to binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Commercial Arbitration Rules, seated in New York County, New York. Each party waives the right to bring or join a class action or class arbitration. Either party may still seek an injunction in court to protect its intellectual property.
8. Email communications
Signcodify communicates by email only. By creating an account you agree to receive transactional emails at the address you provide. If you tick the optional consent box at sign-up, you also agree to receive service-related updates about features you use.
Purpose
Transactional emails include address confirmation, password resets, member invitations, review requests, notices that a page was published or a Git sync failed, stale-page alerts, security alerts and billing notices. They exist so you can operate your workspace.
Frequency
Volume depends on your activity and settings, typically 2 to 20 messages a month for an active account. Optional product updates are limited to no more than two (2) per month.
Costs
Message and data rates may apply. Signcodify does not charge for emails; your email or internet provider's standard data charges apply.
Unsubscribe and help
You can stop optional emails at any time with the Unsubscribe link in the footer of any email or at signcodify.com/unsubscribe; the change takes effect within 24 hours. For help, reply to any email with HELP in the subject line, write to help@signcodify.com or call (332) 555-0176. Transactional emails continue while your account is open because the service depends on them.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old. Consent to optional emails is never a condition of using Signcodify.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we will email account owners at least thirty (30) days before they take effect. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version.
